The Raices Fountain is was completed in May 1992 it was built to commemorate and celebrate the New World's 500th anniversary, it was designed by an architect called Miguel Carlo and what he wanted to show was are mixed heritage that’s why the statues are a Spanish, a Taino, and a African. The Raices Fountain is considered to be one of the most romantic spots in Old San Juan.
